A Heart of Love

This time of the year, February, our hearts are turned to love. Valentine's Day is a special time to show love to the people we care about the most. We can show our love in so many different ways, all year long. Sometimes, just a little hug, a pat on the shoulder, or holding a hand means so much, and can change a heart.

Do you have strife, bitterness, revenge, jealousy, or hatred in your heart? If so, you are only hurting yourself and doing great damage to your health. Even your doctor will tell you this. You hear it on television all the time now like it is something new that has been just discovered, but God tells us in His word that love is the key to life.

Jesus taught us in His word to love one another. "If ye keep My commandments, ye shall abide in My love; even as I have kept My Father's commandments, and abide in His love. This is My commandment, that ye love one another, as I have loved you." John 15:10, 12 (KJV).

As we well know, some people are easier to love than others! That's the true test of love, loving the unlovable, or loving someone who refuses your love. Remember, you do not have to answer for anyone but yourself. God sees your heart, and if you have shown love in every situation, you have pleased Him. If you have a heart of love, your heart is full of God's love, and there is no room for anything else. Then it is easy to show love. The struggle comes when you have other things inside your heart, and it shows!

A heart of love is a pure heart. Allow the Holy Spirit to give you His heart. It can change your whole world -- all for the best, and propel you to a better and higher place in God. In my book, "Soaring on Angels' Wings," a broken heart is turned into a healed heart. Trade your broken heart for a heart filled with love.

God is love. God's love is pure, faithful, and never ending. How wonderful to know that we are loved by Him, unconditionally. We, as His children can go to our Heavenly Father any time, and we know that He will always be there for us, to love us as no one else can.

So, when you think of love, think of God's love for you and love Him back with all of your heart. God is love. When you show love to everyone, it will come back to you in so many ways. Be the first one to give love -- it is contagious! A little love goes a long way to someone who may need to be loved today.
