Rebecca West: Words & Music

An Open Heart

"Bob has an 'open heart' toward Me. Every time I speak to him, he hears Me."
Those words were spoken to me several weeks ago by the Holy Spirit.

If you have ever wondered why some people seem to make wise choices most of the time, it is because they are listening to God to direct their path.

Have you ever noticed that some people have a certain "joy" in their lives that goes beyond happiness or excitement? In the presence of God there is joy that the world cannot give. The Holy Spirit brings true joy to your life.

An open heart toward God is a total surrender to His Will. It will enable you to hear His Voice and receive all of the blessings He has for you! Blessings are benefits that are available to everyone! Why would we not want all of the blessings (benefits) that have been paid for and that are ours?

When Jesus died on the cross for us, I believe it was for our salvation, our healing, and our deliverance. He died once, for all. No exceptions. Can we believe it enough to receive it? Are we willing to surrender our hearts and lives completely to Him? Are we willing to give up control and wanting to do things "our way"? Are we brave enough to pray the perfect prayer ( "Your Will be done" )?

We can no longer keep God "in a box." We can no longer keep our hearts closed and miss out on everything that God has for us. My desire is for His Will to be done in my life in every single area. With an open heart, I want to receive every blessing He has for me.

Jesus has travelled this road. He knows where you have been and where your journey will take you. He wants to bless you along every road you travel. He wants to speak to your heart and give you comfort when you need comforting. He desires to heal you when you need healing. He wants you to know that He is with you at all times and He loves it when you talk to Him. He loves the sound of your voice, and He hears you every time you say His name: Jesus.

God has not stopped listening, and God has not stopped talking.

What a wonderful "freeing feeling" to be able to say, "Lord, my life is in Your Hands and my heart is in Your Keeping."

What a joy to open our hearts, always listening for His Voice, however He chooses to speak to us.

Once you have heard His Voice, you will forever believe! And you will never be the same.
