Rejection and Victim Mentality

I call rejection the "biggest hurt" in one's life. When we are rejected, our self esteem hits rock bottom! Our passion and enthusiasm for life dissipates. We feel as if our opinions and feelings are not important or needed and we become spectators in life instead of players. Then we soon develop a victim mentality. We believe, because we have been rejected, that we are not valuable. At this point, we start listening to the lies of Satan.

As a victim, with a rejection and victim mentality, we feel discarded, thrown away, no good, and unloved. Webster's Dictionary defines a victim as "a sufferer from a force or action." If you are in a toxic relationship, it will hinder your growth, you will suffer greatly from it, and it will eventually destroy you. As a child of God, you deserve to be loved and cherished. In my book, Soaring on Angels' Wings, each section is designed to enlighten you to your value as an individual. Psalm 18:19 says, "He brought me forth also into a large place; He delivered me because He delighted in me." See! God delights in you! He is your deliver out of the place of rejection!

Psalm 32:7 says, "Thou art my hiding place; Thou shalt preserve me from trouble; Thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance." A song of praise and deliverance will raise you up out of your victim mentality! You don't have to suffer from an evil force or action anymore! He is your hiding place, and He will save you from trouble.

2 Timothy 4:18 says, "And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto His heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen."

Your rejection and victim mentality can be transformed by a loving God. Romans 12:2 says, "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."

Extract lessons from your tragedies and go forward. Crisis reveals your character, and God created you in His image. He will never reject you or see you as a victim of life's tragedies. You have the characteristics of God! You are loved and cherished by an Almighty God. You are one of a kind, an impeccable, beautiful person. God's word says you are!

Believe it!
