Restoration

"The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters, He restores my soul." (Psalm 23:1-3, New International Version)

Have you ever been devastated by someone telling you that they don't love you anymore?

I have.

Have you ever lost someone dear to you in death?

I have.

Have you ever lost all of your earthly possessions -- home, property, even your personal belongings?

I have.

As broken vessels we try to survive with what's left of us. We soon find that we are too weak and too shattered to carry on with our lives. We are in desperate need of restoration.

In our human way of thinking, restoration means to repair. In God's supernatural mind, restoring His people has a different meaning. It begins on the inside -- in our hearts that have been crushed and broken. He binds up all of the wounds that have been inflicted upon us. He brings healing, joy, and peace into our lives once again.

Never underestimate the power of God's restoration in your life. He has restored me. He can restore you!

When our soul has been restored, we can soar as never before and accomplish everything in our lives that God has planned for us.

There are lessons to be learned through our trials. We become stronger, wiser, and more compassionate. If we would learn these lessons without having to go through these trials it would be great, but often it does not seem to work that way.

There is a beautiful song that I used to sing that goes like this:

"My cup runneth over,
My strength is renewed,
Though it seemed total darkness for me,
Thy rod and Thy staff bring me comfort,
At the end there is victory for me."

God has restored my soul. He will do the same for you.
